Aromatherapy treatment
Aromatherapy refers to the therapeutic use of aromatic oils derived from various plant resources. The aim of aromatherapy is to promote the physical and psychological well being of the patients. It is also sometimes used with massage and other techniques which are part of the therapy to provide a holistic treatment.
Aromatherapy provides a gamut of physical and psychological benefits. It uses essential oil or combination of oils and other materials to treat the patient. Essential oils are the ones most widely used. They are used to treat a wide rang of symptoms and conditions.
The aromatherapy oils can be classified as essential oils and carrier oils. Essential oils cannot be applied directly onto the skin. Only carrier oils can be applied. Since they carry the oil to the skin, they are called as carrier oils. There are a variety of carrier and essential oils available. They are chosen based on their therapeutic properties.
