Hatha yoga
Hatha yoga is very popular in America. It is that branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. It uses bodily postures, breathing techniques and meditation for bringing about a healthy body and mind. There are about 200 hatha yoga postures. But they have lots of variations among themselves. It work to make the spine flexible and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands and tissues. They are used to stretch and align the body by promoting the balance and flexibility.
Hatha yoga is used by various physical therapists across the world to cure various injuries and disabilities. Since the yoga is very gentle and adaptable, it serves as an excellent rehabilitation program.
Several studies show that it is also beneficial in reducing stress-related problems like cholesterol, high blood pressure and much more. Many medical schools and clinics have adopted meditation as an effective stress management technique. Similarly cardiologists believe that hatha yoga combined with meditation and low fat diet can reduce the blockage of coronary arteries.
