Medical Acupuncture
Medical acupuncture involves the basic version of traditional Chinese acupuncture. It is the most popular alternative medicine. It was created for those who wish to use the acupuncture based practices but not willing to learn the traditional Chinese medicine theory which is the basic requirement of acupuncturists.
In short, medical acupuncture is the westernized version of Chinese acupuncture. Though it is less popular when compared to the Chinese acupuncture, it is gaining popularity of late in west. The western medical practitioners are showing more interest in alternative medicine. So alternative medicines like medical acupunctures are increasingly accepted by the mainstream medical practitioners.
The westernized form of acupuncture largely ignores the traditional theories and techniques. It is based on modern anatomy and physiology. The traditional theory of points and meridians are also ignored. The medical acupuncture can be learnt and practiced easily. It does not involve complex treatments like traditional Chinese acupuncture.
