Physical therapy
Physical therapy is also called as physiotherapy. It involves the services to people to help them develop, maintain and restore movement and functions of the body throughout their lifespan. Usually movements are threatened by aging process or injury or some ailment. Functional movement is important for a healthy body.
A physical therapist job involves identifying and maximizing the movement of the parts of the body. He should interact with the client, his family, care givers, and more important of all with the patient. This will provide him with key points about the patient's movement needs and his potentials.
He can assess the patient's movement potentials in this process. This knowledge is very important for physical therapists in determining the diagnosis strategy for the patient. He will also decide the setting in which the physiotherapy practice should be undertaken. This setting will vary according to the goals of the physiotherapy. The goals may range from health promotion, prevention, treatment or rehabilitation.
