Swedish Massage - The Right Therapy To Relax Muscles

Swedish body massage is one of the popular therapies. It is undergoing constant change and modification to stay in tune with the times. This therapy is practiced by many therapists in United States of America. Swedish massage therapy is popularly referred as the western system of massage therapy.
Swedish massage definition uses the term "therapeutic message" to denote this.

This system was founded in the late 17th century. A Swedish doctor by name Per henrik ling invented this system. As per this method the therapist applies excess pressure in the affected area. The next step will be to rub the muscles in and around the adjoining area. They will be rubbed in the same direction where the blood goes to the heart.

The principle of Swedish massage is to apply deep pressures and concentrate on inner muscles. Swedish massage helps in aromatherapy and deep tissue massage. Swedish Massage Techniques

There are lots of techniques for performing Swedish massages. Some of them include long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions and Petri sage. Expert therapists are also working on to develop their own way of treating patients with Swedish therapies. Some of the popular therapies are as follows:

Effleurage

In this method the therapist mostly treats the patient's limbs and its inner parts. The therapist makes use of gliding strokes in these areas. The therapist makes use of his hands or thumb pads in this treatment. The idea is to ensure smooth blood flow between the limbs and heart. This treatment is also administered from neck to spinal chord and from shoulder to fingers.

Petrissage

This treatment will help to break them and thereby make it free and flexible. The therapist applied circular pressure to ensure that it heals the adjacent regions that are likely to be affected.
