This form of therapy can also be used for encouraging a person to take up a healthy lifestyle. The diet that is consumed should be rich in nutrient while junk food should be completely avoided. The diet that is consumed during the period of weight loss should focus more on eating the right kind of food rather than skipping any type of food entirely. As most dieters are often thrown off their diets when they involve in comfort eating during periods of depression or when upset, cognitive behavioural therapy for weight loss helps in alleviating depression and other mood changes , thereby arresting comfort eating.
