How Does Light Box Therapy Work?

Light box therapy is administered with the help of a light box or phototherapy lamps. The light box is equipment that is designed to infuse lights (in varying combinations and quantity).
The patient will be asked to sit in front of the light box. The therapist will get to know the actual problem suffered by the patient and decide the exact mixture. The patient will then be asked to sit in front of the light box. The therapist will switch on the light box and infuse light into his body. The patient should not be directly allowed to face the light as this will harm him.

Keys for Effective Light Therapy

The success of a light therapy depends on many crucial factors like intensity, duration and timings. The accuracy of the intensity is important because lesser the intensity lesser will be the effect. On the contrary if the intensity is more it will lead to adverse consequences. The duration and timings are said to be important because they differ vastly from case to case. Some of them may require lesser time while the others may require more. Hence it has to be administered correctly.
