This field has grown so advanced that a patient can not only get treatment for any disorder that he or she suffers from but also choose his favorite therapy. What is Light Therapy? Many factors influence the quality of human life. These factors may be natural and as well as artificial. If a person does not get the required amount of light his health could very well be affected. He may very well suffer from problems like depression and sleeping disorders. This is because our body functions with the help of a biological clock. Since the amount of light received is insufficient it becomes difficult for the biological clock to perform the routine functions.Light therapy exposes your body to lights of varying wavelengths. The duration depends on the nature of problem .Similarly the wavelength is also determined on the same basis. Light therapy is not only meant to heal the problem but also help your body in normal functioning there afterwards. The therapist can choose to use natural sunlight or other forms of light. Dr. A.J. Lewy discovered the concept of light therapy. This was found out in the year 1981 when he was treating an engineer namely Howard Ken who had a peculiar problem of depression and that too only between fall and spring. It deserves to be mentioned that DR.A.J. Lewy had proved that a person may suffer from problems if he does not get the required quantity of sunlight. Later light therapy was developed professionally by a company namely Sunnex biotechnologies in the year 1988. Who should consider this Treatment? As the history goes Light therapy is mainly used to treat people suffering from problems due to seasonal changes. They would usually get acquainted with the quantity of light available (or unavailable as the case may be). When there are changes in the light levels they may initially find it difficult to adjust. If this continues in the subsequent stages also they will suffer from various problems ranging from depression to insomnia.A plant requires regular supply of light to support its growth as light happens to be a resource. Similarly human beings also require the adequate quantity of light to support for their subsistence. Problems like psoriasis or vitiligo can be treated by light therapy. Therefore light therapy is not only helpful if a person does not receive adequate light but it can itself act as a medicine and cure certain diseases. Who should not consider Light Therapy? There are some restrictions for administering pulse light therapy to certain categories of persons. For instance people who have sensitive skin or eyes will not be able to get relief from this therapy. On the contrary they will suffer light therapy will harm their health. Since their skin and eyes are not receptive to light it is not proper to administer this therapy for them. Similarly people suffering from severe depressions or maniac disorder will not be able to recover from this treatment because light therapy cannot give the required relief.
