What Is TCM TreatmentIn China it is used for everything, from an allergy to a widespread cancer. But in the USA, you will not find adequate professionals for serious illnesses, only mild ones like respiratory conditions or skin diseases.Whatever the illness you wish to treat, it's better inform yourself on the real benefits of a determined product or consult with a TCM doctor about the different options that you may find in the market. How Does A TCM Doctor Diagnose? There are eight types of diagnose systems that a TCM doctor can use with a patient. Let's examine each one of them:Yin or Yang
Five ElementsIn Chinese philosophy, nature can be divided into five elements which interact between them. That means that everything is composed by those five substances. In the case of Chinese medicine, each element is related to a determined section of the body. A TCM doctor has to determine if there is any imbalance between them and has to find a way to return that balance to the patient.Eight PrinciplesAccording to TCM, they are: external, internal, cold, heat, deficiency, excess, yin and yang. A TCM doctor uses them to determine what disease is the patient suffering.Zang Fu TheoryThis theory says that there are two kinds of organs, the Zang organs, which nourish the body, and the Fu organs, which aid in the digestion of food. A true master of Chinese medicine should be able to mix this theory with the five elements for an adequate diagnosis.Meridian (Chinese medicine)TCM theory implies that there is a vital energy in all of us, a qi that circulates around our body through channels called meridians. Any disruption on this flow generates a series of illnesses in a person. Once the disruption is found, the TCM doctor uses acupuncture to correct the problem.Six LevelsCreated almost eighteen centuries ago, this theory assigns a series of levels to a patient, from full health to death. Since it is very similar to meridian, it also uses acupuncture to correct problems.Four StagesSimilar to the six levels, the four stages are different scales of health. A TCM doctor changes the treatment of the patient as he passes through one stage to the other.Three JiaosThis system is used very often with the four stages theory for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Once the TCM doctor makes the diagnosis, the patient goes through a herbal treatment. In all of these techniques, the TCM doctor uses observation and palpation to emit his diagnosis. Notice that TCM doesn't make use of intrusive instruments like modern medicine. The principal behind TCM treatment is that the doctor doesn't make any kind of damage to the patient's body to find what he is suffering from. There are eight branches of TCM: Chinese massage techniques, acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet, meditation, martial arts, Feng Shui and astrology. All of these methods are instruments that a TCM doctor uses for treating his patients. Does TCM Have A Future In Modern Medicine?Of course it does. As the world has globalized itself, modern medicine has included hundreds of treatments to its health database. Chinese herbal remedies have been one of them. Lamentably, unscrupulous companies have given these treatments a bad reputation. If you really want to make use of traditional Chinese medicine, then look for a TCM doctor in your community. It's in your best interest to do so.Related ArticlesBiotherapy - Fight Infections!
