Alternative Treatments goes unmentioned in consultations
Many people have accepted and embraced alternative medication and remedies. From flower essences and drops to herb pastilles, pills and sprays, almost anyone will, at some point, have used alternative medicine to feel better. As with traditional medicine there are remedies and treatments for almost any illness or condition. Ranging from headaches to stress related conditions and immune system problems, there are alternative cures for things that we all suffer from. Figures show that consumers spend more money on alternative remedies than on regular medicine in general.
Most American citizens aged over 50 have received treatments such as acupuncture at some point and most of the time these people have sought an alternative practitioner themselves. Even though alternative treatments are sought for serious conditions it appears that patients do not (or hardly) discuss their choice of getting alternative treatment with their regular doctor. Some patients are embarrassed and do no want their doctor to think that they do not trust regular medicine. Others just want to try another approach before taking drugs or receiving any other kind of traditional treatment. According to research done by the AARP and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine people not say a thing about their alternative remedies of choice.
